‘Meze’ is a Delicacy or Special kind of food that should be enjoyed slowly with some good wine but most importantly with good company!! Imagine a table overflowing with dishes each with its own unique flavour and people lazily ‘picking’ whatever tickles their fancy. |
Here at Sokrates we present this way of eating with our Meze Greek Banquet. You will be served more than twenty dishes in three stages. |
First, to start you off, a set of cold starters will arrive which include all your favourite dips such as Taramosalata, Humus and Tzatziki plus some tasty salads and other cold appetizers served with hot Pita Bread. |
Then follows a selection of grilled and fried Greek, Cypriot and Mediterranean nibbles, which you can mix and match together with the cold starters if you wish. These may include things like Souvlaki (pork kebab), Spicy Sausages, Spinach and Feta Pies, Halloumi cheese, Kalamari and lots more served with Greek Salad. |
Finally, some favourite specialities such as Mousaka, Stifado (Beef & onions casserole), Greek Style Meatballs and Dolmathes (Stuffed vine leaves) finish off the Feast of Flavours. |
So, all you have to do is order your wine and just sit back and savour the dishes that will come to your table. But take it nice and slow so you can enjoy everything!! |
